An Open Letter To Sagittarius For May 2021
Dear Sagittarius,
I hope my letter finds you in good spirits as I know the recent past has been hard to bear for many of my dear Sagittarian friends. Sagittarius is a sign of great understanding and wisdom. And with great understanding can come great pain; for your suffering is not limited by a narrow perception of personal self-interest but is universal. By that I mean you feel the pain of the world. You have great empathy. Indeed, you share the distress of those you watch suffer. That is why many Sagittarians are frequently moved to perform charitable deeds. You feel obliged to intervene, so you can assist your friends and relatives struggling with some heavy burden. You have a heart of gold, but your good-turns frequently go unappreciated. Try not to feel hurt. Instead, be proud of yourself. And if — from time to time — you fail to maintain your own high ethical standards be kind to yourself. Don't permit sadness and remorse to cast a shadow over the rest of your life. Show yourself some forgiveness and compassion. Take a moment of quiet reflection to ponder my words.
Now — that done — come walk with me into the sunshine. Let's try to anticipate the future and plan ahead accordingly.
Week One:
A potentially auspicious week to get to grips with some current financial issues that limit your options. You might need to do some straight talking with your Bank's financial advisor, but the time is ripe for some sound professional guidance. Venus (known in traditional astrology as the Lesser Benefic) snuggles up to Uranus the Awakener. This combination of energies will go a long way to help you make the shift from an often painful past to a glorious new future.
There will be moments this week, if harvested efficiently, that enable you to begin the process of making your home a place of tranquillity in which to transform — metamorphosize — into the “new-you” you want to become. Your mind may turn to finding a new love or radically transforming a current relationship, if that is your preference. You are in the driver's seat now. Enjoy the challenge. You'll grow into the job, have no fear. There are astral-indicators which suggest you are short on enthusiasm or self-confidence at the moment. It will pass. For the moment, just try your best to make the changes you want to implement, but don't push yourself too hard. Just take it one day at a time. Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day!
Your interest in Spirituality or New Religious Movements will flourish and bloom. You will explore new horizons and question some life-long assumptions about the meaning of life and other related subjects. Reach out to others who can help you undertake some kind of personal pilgrimage or search for understanding and meaning. The time is right to take action and begin to live your dream. This might entail treading a spiritual path long ignored in your life thus far. Perhaps a clue to help you choose which way to travel, could be found in childhood memories or a shared secret. Dare to dream: dare to dare the impossible. Admit it: you need your Faith back, don't you?
Week Two:
You continue to follow your intuition where it leads you. Undeterred by small mishaps or obstacles you continue to explore new ways of doing things that excite and stimulate your senses. Some days you feel totally invigorated; elated by the magic of it all. It's almost like you can shape reality to your will. You have constructive thoughts and find a way to put your plans into action. For many Sagittarians, your love-life will be transformed and remade anew. Mars awakens your initiative and stimulates your passions. It's all potentially good, just so long as you don't over-step the boundaries of conventionality too far. Additionally, you must teach a friend how to keep a secret.
Week Three:
Friends, colleagues, fellow students and siblings are likely to play a big part in your week. In fact their influence and input will do a great deal to shape and steer your attitude and actions in matters relating to both your intimate relationships, business partners and your own reputation in the community. The astrological significators are potentially helpful and supportive. Consequently, I suspect other people won't be meddling in your affairs or trying to throw a spanner in the works. Just the opposite in fact. Indeed, it could be to your advantage to share a few of your hopes and dreams with them, because they may be able to pull a few strings to help you on your way.
Mars in the 8th House stimulates your libido and shapes your desires and actions. This has the potential to bring out the best or the worst in your nature. Mars exhibits some potential “irritability” in his relationship to both Jupiter and Saturn. And the influence of Uranus adds unpredictability into the mix. This might — at first glance — seem to be a rather pessimistic analysis, but remember that nothing is black or white (or fixed in stone) in astrology. In the final analysis your free will is crucial to the choices you make. Indeed, you could be adventuress, try something new and have a whale of a time; irrespective of whether you are in an established relationship or single and gagging at the bit to find someone new.
The children you are brought into contact with may attempt to assert their autonomy in a potentially irritating manner. (I guess this is not what you want to hear if you are a teacher or police officer by profession.) But seen through their young eyes it's OK because the world is their playground, and they just want to get out there and enjoy it. In short: if you are a parent, I anticipate your home-life is going to be challenging and anything but boring. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I've been there; done it, and got the T-shirt to prove it.
Week Four:
This week might be dominated by an almost compulsive desire to achieve. Why? Because your Sun (ambition, individuality, core-values, desire for recognition) are stimulated by the combined energies of both Mars and Jupiter. Moreover, the astrological aspects denote frenzied action rather than a gentle flow of energy. That's kind of like comparing a gently flowing river to a river in full flow. Imagine paddling upstream; one will require you to paddle only gently, while the other will be hard work. In short: you've got to pace yourself. Don't keep banging your head against a brick wall. If you encounter an immovable object just knock off, sit back, and enjoy a cuppa tea!
Interestingly, this week could be a prime time to do a little light gardening or bury your nose into a good book. Yes, lose yourself in a little cloud-gazing; get out your knitting needles or acrylic paints. In fact, it's the kind of week to busy yourself doing nothing. If someone accuses you of time-wasting idleness, just tell them your astrologer told you to enjoy yourself more (but don't tell them my name, I don't want them chasing me). As always, take care of yourselves and each other. And remember it's nice to be important, but it's important to be nice.
Yours sincerely,
Gur Doleman: Astrologer
